Account Management System (AMS)

Common problems:

Browsers and Settings are the most common problems. You should be using an up-to-date browser (we recommend Firefox), and you MUST have cookies enabled. Please read the help files in your browser for information about cookies.

Passwords

Passwords are case sensitive!

For your security and for the security of all of YOUR customers, we insist on passwords that are not dictionary terms and that are a mix of alpha numeric characters.

Passwords are important and you should not check the box that says "remember my password". We recommend that you learn and remember your password.

Some basic information:

What is AMS?

The Account Management system or "AMS" is a hosted service on a secure server that is integrated with database information. This user-friendly application creates a safe environment for:

What is a ".sqrl" file

The file extension ".sqrl" stands for "Server Query Resource Language".

What is a secure server?

Submitting a form to a secure server (via the 'action' directive in the form) is indicated if you have created a form for data collection via the web that contains fields for sensitive data items which must not identifiable if 'overheard' on the Internet.

Technically, Secure Server IDs, also known as digital certificates, bind an identity to a pair of electronic keys that can be used to encrypt and sign digital information. A Secure Server ID makes it possible to verify someone's claim that they have the right to use a given key, helping to prevent people from using phony keys to impersonate other users. Used in conjunction with encryption, Secure Server IDs provide a complete security solution, assuring the identity of one or all parties involved in a transaction.

A Secure Server ID is issued by a trusted third party called a Certification Authority (CA). A CA acts somewhat like a passport office. CAs must take steps to establish the identity of the people or organizations to whom they issue IDs. Once the CA establishes an organization's identity, it issues a certificate that contains the organization's public key and signs it with the CA's private Key.

Verisign Certificate or CompanyV Certificate?

The basic difference is browser recognition, not the level of security provided. Our certificates carry the same level of encryption as the Verisign Certificates, but the Verisign certificates are automatically recognized by browsers. If you are very concerned about the professional appearance of your secure data, it is probably a better idea to pay the extra $ and have the Verisgn Cert.

Filling out forms

The design mechanism for filling out forms online:
The forms are designed to be filled in as an interview process with a resulting pdf document to be saved and/or printed from a user's machine. The information entered in the interview process is stored on a secure server in a database to allow for retrieval, depending upon needs or requirements and permissions.

Database Management

Depending upon requirements, we can deliver your information in a variety of displays and formats. For instance, if you wish to have information exported in a file format that meets the requirements of third party software, we can develop a custom export system. Most information is left on the server as a database repository and accessed and edited (depending on the needs and permissions).

Managing Customer Information

Customer information can be accessed and used by the customer as well as the Company representative, depending upon permissions.

Adding and editing events to website events calendar

The events calendar system allows for easy adding and editing of events displayed on a website. The values required are there to help you make your information useful to visitors. Past events are automatically removed from display on the website, but they can be stored and called up in AMS to edit and re-use for future events.

Managing mailing lists

Information gathered through forms on your website can be maintained as a part of AMS for later use as a contact database or mail list system. Mailing lists can be exported for use in other applications offline.

E-Lists: creating and sending email notifications

Creating a mass mailing can be time consuming and dangerous as service providers and the FCC crack down on spam. Our E-list management system lets you safely send properly formatted email to ONLY users that have opted-in on your website. When a person "OPTS out" on your site, they are automatically removed from your lists. The email is generated from a mail server instead of your desktop, saving you time and resources and assuring that you will not be perceived as spamming by your service provider.

Adding or editing copy on your website

We can design pages that allow you to make simple edits to your home page or another page on your site - or even to add pages with meta tags and title - and you do not have to learn or know html to keep the copy fresh.

Online private message boards and meeting centers

Online message boards and meeting centers allow users to communicate with workgroups through message boards and chat systems.
